Pokémon Legends: Z-A Is Bringing Back The Best Feature From Arceus, According To Patent

Rumors are that may bring back one of the best features from, as seen from an official patent filed by Nintendo. should be the next main game from the franchise, as it is the only one announced so far as players eagerly await the reveal of the Generation 10 games. While the details are still scarce, the upcoming title should build upon the format offered by and possibly take advantage of some gameplay features in .

The official programming language used in the patent may leave more details open to interpretation and the specific title it refers to is not confirmed, but it does seem like players’ characters in an upcoming game will be able to alter between their “,” which may very well be the Ride Pokémon in .

The patent states that players could be able to change between these different mount-type of objects and that they would allow the players’ characters to have access to ground, water, and air. This would not necessarily be anything new since offered players the chance to use different types of Ride Pokémon to traverse land, air, and sea. Mounts like Sneasler even allowed them to climb mountains, for example.

This may simply be a patent to ensure that the gameplay mechanics return with the release of .

Of course, as is the case with any sequel, there is a chance that not only will players have more Ride Pokémon options with the new game, but the way they perform may even be enhanced. In, the flying was somewhat limited and players could not ascend as easily as they descended. This was somewhat replicated with Koraidon and Miraidon in the Gen 9 games,, and then enhanced, as the mascot Legendaries were then able to fully take flight with the DLC.

For all its merits, Pokémon Legends: Arceus fails in one crucial category. Pokémon Legends: Z-A is perfectly poised to fix that mistake.
