Pokemon GO Hosting Mega Heracross Raid Day

Niantic reveals a new raid event for Pokemon GO centered on the arrival of Mega Heracross, which brings with it exclusive rewards and other bonuses. While Pokemon GO may not be as popular as it once was in the years that followed its launch back in 2016, the mobile title continues to support a large player base. The continued success is largely due to how often the game updates and refreshes its content through seasons, new events, as well as constantly expanding the roster of Pokemon to catch.

Each month seemingly brings new Pokemon GO events and spotlight hours, giving players new things to do or look forward to on a weekly basis. In fact, the start of April has seen Pokemon GO add 3 new shiny variants of Kartana, Celesteela, and Wimpod, though considering how rare these types of Pokemon can be, players will need a bit of luck to find them. However, during the Sizable Surprises event, Niantic is also launching a new Raid Day event showcasing the latest Mega Pokemon arrival in the game.

In a new blog post, Niantic reveals all the latest details for the highly anticipated Mega Heracross Raid Day event. Making its debut within Mega Raids, Heracross will be taking over on Saturday, April 13, from 2pm to 5pm local time. Participating players even have a slight chance to capture a shiny version if they're lucky. To help support this event, Niantic is increasing the Remote Raid Pass limit to 20 starting on Friday, April 12, through 8pm on Saturday, April 13.

For those who want more from this event, Niantic also revealed premium items that will be available during the Mega Heracross Raid Day event. For $5 USD, players can purchase an Event Exclusive Ticket which gives passive bonuses of 8 additional Raid Passes after spinning a Pokemon GO Gym Photo Disk, increased odds to earn Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles, as well as 50% more XP and 2x earned Stardust from Raid Battles. Finally, an Ultra Ticket Box can be purchased from the Pokemon GO Web Store starting on April 8 at
