Pokemon Fan Makes Beanies Based on Popular Pokemon

A creative Pokemon fan recently stitched together a collection of colorful beanie hats based on some of the franchises’ most popular creatures from the first two generations. Nintendo’s long-running RPG series is home to over 1,000 unique Pokemon as of this writing, sparking the imaginations of fans all around the world. These fans have expressed their affection for particular Pokemon creatures through artwork and custom clothing for nearly three decades, and the results have been about as captivating as the games themselves.

One of the ways Pokemon fans have recreated their favorite collectible monsters is through embroidery, the process of sewing images onto clothing or other forms of fabric using a needle and thread or yarn. One such embroiderer crafted an impressive image of Bulbasaur, the original Grass-type starter Pokemon and the very first officially numbered Pokemon overall. Other gaming-related embroidery works include a picture of Borderland 3’s Zer0, an impressive recreation of Ellie’s tattoo from The Last of Us, and even a 3D stitchwork project inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

A few days ago, Reddit user and custom clothing embroiderer ClubKiddStudios shared some of their Pokemon-inspired beanie designs on r/pokemon, which they created over the previous week. These colorful hats are marked with the faces of some of the most popular Pokemon in the series, including the aforementioned Bulbasaur, the ever-sleepy Snorlax, the cute and mysterious Mew, and the egg-themed infant Pokemon Togepi. Reactions to these beanies have been very positive among ClubKiddStudios’s fellow Reddit users, with some asking if they do commissions so they can own and wear these custom Pokemon caps for themselves — which ClubKiddStudios does on their Etsy page.
