PlayStation VR2 Official PC Adapter by Sony Is Being Certified

An official PlayStation VR2 PC adapter made by Sony Interactive Entertainment is being certified, according to YouTuber Brad Lynch, who found a listing on the South Korean National Radio Research Agency (RRA).

Ever since the PlayStation VR2 headset was unveiled with its high-end capabilities, PC users have been eager to find a way to make it work on their favorite platform. In June 2023, the developer behind the driver that allowed the original PS VR headset to be used on PC revealed that the PS VR2's design meant additional hardware would be required to make it work. However, not long afterward, the same developer solved the hardware authentication problem and fully ported 6DOF (six degrees of freedom) tracking.

Still, it was far from official support of PlayStation VR2 on PC. Sony would have had to change its stance for that to happen, which it did this February. In late March, the headset's latest firmware also enabled PC access, hinting at a direct connection. We've now received confirmation that this will occur through the official PC adapter mentioned above.

PlayStation VR 2 launched for Sony's PlayStation 5 console in February 2023. At the time, Wccftech's review by Kai Tatsumoto earned it an 8.5 out of 10 score:
