PlayStation Reportedly Prepping Summer Game Fest Reveals Hot on the Heels of State of Play

Yesterday saw Sony roll out a new State of Play, and while opinions on such showcases always vary, it contained a fair number of announcements, including the ambitious new platformer Astro Bot, first gameplay and a release-date for the multiplayer FPS Concord, as well as additional dates for the Silent Hill 2 remake, God of War Ragnarok PC port, and more. So, is that it for Team Blue? Astro Bot, Concord, Silent Hill 2, and GoW Ragnarok on PC would make a solid lineup for the rest of the year, so maybe PlayStation returns to its cave to hibernate for the rest of the summer?

Well, apparently Sony isn’t done with the “E3 season” announcements just yet. According to reliable leaker Midori, we can look forward to info on “more titles from some SIE [Sony Interactive Entertainment] studios” at Summer Game Fest.

Of course, take this with a grain of salt for now, but Midori has one of the better track records in the leaking game, so if she says something, you should pay attention. As for what Sony might show, that’s up in the air right now. Spider-Man 2 DLC seems like a fairly safe bet, as the big Sony leak from late last year revealed Insomniac has a bunch of plans for 2024 DLC they haven’t officially revealed yet. Maybe we also get another little looky-loo at Wolverine? Beyond the superhero stuff, perhaps we get another look at Fairgame$, and a first peek at Firesprite Studios’ horror title or the rumored Lego Horizon Adventures (yes, a crossover between Aloy and Lego is a supposedly real thing that’s been rumored by reliable sources).

The Summer Game Fest kickoff show will stream live on Friday, June 7 at 2pm PT. What do you think Sony might bring to the big show? What are you hoping to see?
