PlayStation 5 System Software Update 24.01-08.60.00 Introduces PULSE Headset and Earbuds Improvements and More

A new PlayStation 5 system software update is now live, introducing improvements for the PULSE Elite wireless headset and Explore wireless earbuds, and more.

System software version 24.01-08.60.00 brings updated device software for the aforementioned headset and wireless earbuds, introducing a sound equalizer feature and the sidetone feature that will make it easier for the user to hear their own voice in voice chats. The new system software update also introduces a new notification system that makes switching Bluetooth connection from PC to PlayStation 5 more convenient than before.

The new PlayStation 5 system software update also introduces a new feature to Parties, showing a list of parties previously joined, improved system software performance and stability, and messages and usability on some screens. While Sony continues to work on the console's software improvements, the Japanese company hasn't been idle on the hardware side either, releasing the long rumored PlayStation 5 "slim" last year as well as the PlayStation Portal handheld.
