Don't expect Dragon Age: The Veilguard before October at the absolute earliest

BioWare has been vague on the release date of its upcoming pansexual dwarf-romance simulator Dragon Age: The Veilguard, saying only that it'll be out in autumn this year. We can now narrow that launch date a wee bit further, as publisher Electronic Arts has updated its quarterly report to give Dragon Age: The Veilguard a Q3 release—meaning it should be out between October 1 and December 31—as spotted by Eurogamer.

Mega streamer Kai Cenat is streaming Bloodborne to call attention to fan demand for a PC port: 'PlayStation, FromSoft, this is one of the most highly requested games for a remaster and a PC version'

After getting super into Elden Ring and even pulling a marathon monster stream of Shadow of the Erdtree that included a professional therapist talking him through his difficulties with the final boss, streaming star Kai Cenat is checking out the rest of FromSoftware's back catalogue on stream. But Cenat isn't just playing the beloved 2015 PS4 exclusive, Bloodborne for his own benefit—he's hoping his streams might help bring attention to the demand for a remaster and/or PC port.

Obsidian's first person RPG Avowed is reportedly getting delayed into next year despite being 'in good shape' for its original November release

According to The Verge's Notepad newsletter (users may encounter a paywall) on Microsoft happenings, Obsidian's first person action RPG Avowed is about to get delayed into early 2025. The game itself is supposedly in «good shape» to meet its original November release window, but Microsoft is sheepish about overcrowding its holiday release schedule.

The circle is now complete: The developer of an open-source port of Dark Forces who consulted on the Nightdive Remaster is working on putting the remaster back in the source port

First reported by GamingOnLinux, we're getting a bit of retro FPS source port turducken courtesy of Force Engine creator luciusDXL. The developer's expertise on Dark Forces led him to consult with Nightdive on its Kex Engine remaster of the classic Star Wars FPS. Now luciusDXL has started adding support for the remaster's improvements back into the Force Engine.

One modder has already ported a ton of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree's bosses into Sekiro

It's been a little over a month since Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree released, and modder Andmonika has already backported some of its bosses into 2019 FromSoftware ninja action game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Details are slim on the project's Nexus Mods page, called "Sekiro the Lord of Erdtree," but screenshots show Midra, Messmer, Radahn, as well as base game bosses Maliketh and Malenia hanging out in the kingdom of Ashina.

If you want to talk about 'getting good,' one Elden Ring player has beaten Messmer the Impaler at level 1 without dodging, blocking, or getting hit a single time

«Get good» this, «player toxicity» that, none of it really matters when you're talking about just having fun with a cool videogame in this bitch of a life. That said, I have a very high standard for judging who has truly «gotten good» at soulsborne games: Those streamers who play with dance pads or Donkey Konga drums, challenge and speedrunners, and the guy in my college dorm who played Dark Souls 1 windowed on his MacBook Air without a controller or mouse—he used WASD to move and arrow keys for the camera—all come to mind. Now, MouseInATutu on YouTube joins that ancient and honorable company thanks to their predilection for the most excruciating challenge runs I've ever seen.
