The developers at Wube Software are finally showing off some enemies from upcoming expansion Factorio: Space Age, and I'm going to go ahead and say that they're one of the best alien monster designs I've seen in years. Radially symmetrical like starfish, the five-legged crawling Pentapods are alternately disgusting and delightful to watch in action.
2011 3D platformer Sonic Generations is getting an updated version later this year, with Sonic x Shadow Generations, and before that release comes the original is going to get delisted… which a lot of people don't like the idea of, as you might imagine. In response to fan feedback, however, Sega has announced that the currently-available Sonic Generations Collection will remain available as part of a bundle with other older Sonic games.
Looks like space marines versus demons roguelike Jupiter Hell will see its original form available on Steam, with pixelated Jupiter Hell Classic set to release before the end of this year. The release will bring the 20-some year development legacy of the Doom-inspired roguelike to a commercial release with new graphics and mechanics, as well as a setting update to match the world of the more modern Jupiter Hell.
The ever-growing genre of games that mimic the old top-down Zelda titles has another entry with Ogu and the Secret Forest. Releasing on Steam at the end of last month, Ogu has gotten a fairly positive reception from early players. The hand-drawn 2D art and characters are certainly pretty charming, as is little hat-wearing net-swinging platypus protagonist Ogu.
New tile placement game Preserve has a cool theme: Build up flourishing ecosystems by dropping down water, plants, and animals to form environments within your larger biome to sustain ever-more-complex ecosystems. It's set up as a puzzle because everything you place has a symbiotic effect on everything else. Bees and flowers need each other, as a very simple example.

A first look at Splitgate 2's gameplay shows off how the idea of an arena shooter, but with portals, is still just as wild and interesting a concept as when we first saw it. The 4.5 minute gameplay reveal features a few skilled streamers as they pour over Splitgate 2's combat, what sets it apart from the original Splitgate, and its three new classes—called factions.
