Bungie fired its former Marathon game director after multiple allegations of misconduct by female staff, according to a new report.
The mood at Bungie regarding its upcoming game Marathon is “not great,” it’s claimed.
It hasn't been a good couple weeks for Bungie. At the end of July, the Destiny 2 studio laid off 220 employees, representing roughly 17% of its total workforce; shortly after that, a report surfaced alleging that Bungie CEO Pete Parsons had spent more than $2.4 million on vintage cars over the past two years; and shortly after that it came to light that hopes of avoiding layoffs by really nailing The Final Shape expansion were completely misplaced, because the cuts were reportedly planned regardless of the expansion's outcome.
Marathon, the Bungie-developed extraction shooter, is reportedly facing production struggles, with some devs not confident the game will make its internally planned release target in 2025.
It's no secret that PlayStation has a ton of unannounced projects being developed, with one of them being developed by Firesprite. This game is set to be a single-player narrative horror. At the moment, there is no real information about this project.
