Without a direct story in beyond the Journal entries scattered throughout the Palpagos Islands, it's left to players' imagination as to what the giant tree is and what it could mean for the game's Pal population.
, the smash-hit survival title created by indie developer PocketPair, has taken the world by storm, amassing an impressive 19 million player count in a short period. Though the focus of the game has mainly been on the 100+ cute Pals that are catchable in the title and the game's different public controversies, as a survival game — there's one thing that people will do, and that's construct some pretty impressive compounds. Though 's building mechanics aren't the most complex in a survival game, the sheer amount of freedom one has when building allows for some pretty eye-catching structures.
There are so many different systems within the surprisingly complex that it can be easy to get caught up in one aspect and completely overlook another. As one advances through the game, items like Pal Spheres become indispensable, with a huge quantity required to catch the very best Pals in the late game. While at the beginning of the game, many most likely build items themselves, structures like the Sphere and Production Assembly Lines enable characters to keep key resources like ammunition and food ingredients well stocked and passively produced at base.
2024 has been a great year for indie titles, and , a game developed by one indie developer named Zeekerss is a great example of that. is a horror co-op title where people must team together in groups of four to salvage scrap materials to sell to an ominous and mysterious force. People so far have loved it, with the PC version on Steam being met with rave reviews and currently sitting with an «Overwhelmingly Positive» rating.
Though one of the more controversial tactics in , butchering Pals is a necessary evil required to clear out the Palbox, but as it turns out — this early-game mechanic is certainly not the best thing to do with duplicate Pals. As one progresses through the varying technology tiers in, they'll discover new items and technologies that add another layer of complexity to what is already a pretty intricate survival title. One such technology can easily be overlooked in the early-mid game, as it requires a coveted Ancient Technology Point to unlock.
Though some have criticized for having underdeveloped building mechanics, especially when compared to other open-world survival titles, it does have a fairly impressive suite of furniture and decoration cosmetics unlockable with Technology Points. Each of these furniture sets comes with a variety of different pieces to add to the decor. When combined with other structures that serve practical uses, it can create some pretty amazing themed bases.
