As a noteworthy up-and-comer to the tumultuous pool of team-based FPS hero shooters, there's a lot still left to reveal, but there's definitely something special at its core. Developed in-house at Sony’s own Firewalk Studios, makes for an ambitious and tantalizing debut for its developer, with a decidedly diverse cast of characters and a pleasing sense of kinetic movement and verticality to the action. Its blend of sci-fi worldbuilding and peppy personality shines through, even while the game appears inescapably similar to other franchises in its associated genres.
PlayStation’s first real shot at cracking into the live-service world will be the competitive shooter Concord. The game features a cast of (literally) colorful characters, and the gameplay shown off so far appears to take a lot of inspiration from the hero shooter genre. Nailing that balance of such distinct characters, weapons, and abilities is tough, plus Concord isn’t going the free-to-play route like many other live-service games. Firewalk Studios revealed the pricing of its upcoming PlayStation-published game Concordon Thursday, and players interested in the hero shooter can now preorder it.
Last week, Sony finally pulled the curtain back on Firewalk Studios’ new hero shooter Concord, and now they’ve provided some more details about pricing, editions, launch content, and more. Somewhat surprisingly, the standard edition of Concord will only set you back $40, although there will be a $60 Digital Deluxe Edition of the game.
