Palworld Developer Pocketpair is Hiring

Pocketpair has acknowledged that it is short on staff, and is currently hiring to maintain the development of the virally successful Palworld. Palworld was released on Steam and Xbox early access on January 19, where it suddenly became a sensation almost overnight. This success even saw it outpacing Pokemon's latest release, Scarlet and Violet, in sales. Despite the controversies that Palworld has garnered since its launch, it has proven to be a monumental success for the small studio.

Maintaining Palworld's development is already proving itself to be a costly endeavor. While Microsoft has provided Pocketpair with dedicated servers and assistance with optimization, Palworld still regularly runs into issues with its multiplayer. While Palworld's expensive server costs can be handled with the amount of money the game brings in, Pocketpair has admitted that the amount of staff it has currently isn't high enough for such a popular game.

This staffing concern was addressed in a recent tweet from Palworld's official account. According to a rough machine translation, there are many things the developers want to do in Palworld, but the studio is severely lacking in personnel to get it done. The tweet says Pocketpair is recruiting for all positions, with the most wanted ones being for planners and engineers. Pocketpair also states that it doesn't matter what engine experience interested developers have either, so as long as the prospective employee is eager about working on the game, they should apply.

Given Palworld's viral popularity, this call for more staff isn't likely to be surprising. Palworld has at least three different gameplay loops, which include monster battling, farming, and base building, all of which require different fields of knowledge.
