Overclocker Sets OC World Record By Making Intel Core i9-14900K CPU The First To Finish SuperPi Under 3 Minutes

Overclocking is an art and this art is mastered by none other than extreme overclockers who are always pushing the envelope with their testing sprees. Now, legendary overclocker, SAFEDISK, is breaking into new grounds by achieving the world's first and record run of SuperPI which was finished in under 3 minutes using an Intel Core i9-14900K CPU.

Intel Core i9-14900K CPU Sets New SuperPI OC World Record, Finishing Under 3 Minutes On The ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 APEX Encore Board

SuperPI's 32M is one of the most used benchmarks when claiming world records. It's a super-fast and interesting benchmark that shows how fast modern CPUs and memory combinations are. It looks like South Korean overclocker, SAFEDISK (SoonHo Jeong) has conquered the benchmark with his latest Intel Core i9-14900K CPU run.

For testing, an Intel Core i9-14900K CPUI was used which was put under LN2 cooling. The chip had only 4 cores and 4 threads enabled out of its maximum 24 cores and 32 threads. The CPU was paired with an ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 APEX Encore motherboard which pushed it to 8449.22 MHz using 1.37V. For memory, 32 GB of G.Skill's DDR5-7800 CL36 memory was used which was also tuned to DDR5-9000+ (CL32-48-45-36-2T) timings.

The result is the Intel Core i9-14900K CPU completing the SuperPI 32M benchmark in under 3 minutes (2 minutes, 59.919 seconds to be precise). This is the first time a CPU has completed the SuperPI 32M test under 3 minutes which sets a new benchmark for the overclocking segment and future CPU releases. For reference, a stock-clocked Intel Core i9-14900K CPU completed the same bench in 5 minutes and 45 seconds in our review here.
