Over 14,000 games are now Steam Deck compatible

Two years after Steam Deck launched, over 14,000 games are now compatible with Valve’s handheld.

That’s according to tracking site SteamDB (via Gaming on Linux), which lists 14,023 Steam Deck compatible titles.

Of these games, 4,607 have been ‘Verified’ by Valve, meaning they work “great on Steam Deck, right out of the box”, while 9,416 are deemed to be ‘Playable’, meaning they “may require some manual tweaking by the user to play”.

Valve is in the process of reviewing the entire Steam catalogue and is marking each game with one of four ratings designed to show how smooth the experience will be when playing that game on its handheld.

The other two categories games can fall into are ‘Unsupported’, meaning they don’t work on Steam Deck, or ‘Unknown’, meaning they’ve yet to be checked.

Players can visit a Steam Deck Compatibility page which lets them log into their Steam account and see which of their games have been tested so far.

For a game to be Deck Verified by Valve, it needs to meet four tests:

A record 14,535 games were released on Steam in 2023, up roughly 2,000 from the previous year’s count, according to SteamDB. So far this year, 3,160 games have been released on the digital distribution platform.

Steam has a number of promotions planned for early 2024, including its Spring Sale, which launches this week.
