One Hidden Fallout 4 Location May Be The Best Location For A Settlement

's Wasteland is home to many memorable locations, from its vaults to the massive ship, The USS Constitution sitting atop a building near Bunker Hill. While some of these locations, such as the aforementioned USS Constitution, are featured for a standalone questline, others, such as the cul-de-sac, Sanctuary Hills, can be turned into a new home for players and some of their allies, called settlements.

Settlements can be built to a players' own designs, using materials scavenged across the Wasteland to design new houses or facilities such as water pumps, and wild plants can be harvested to ensure a steady supply of food and drink for the location's inhabitants. It's a nice change of pace from the brutality of the Wasteland, and can be extremely satisfying to see an area that was once decimated by nuclear fallout become thriving once again.

With 37 settlements to unlock and build in Fallout 4 knowing where to put in effort can be hard, and some locations are definitely better than others.

While some of these locations are extremely easy to find, such as Sanctuary Hills, which is one of the first locations players explore in the game and serves as the tutorial for settlement building, others can be found after venturing slightly more off the beaten path in. This was the case with Redditor More_Commission5368, who found one of 's best settlement locations after nearly reaching level 50, completing the whole game and sending all of their companions to Sanctuary.

The location in question was found out of sheer curiosity, as More_Commission5368 simply wanted to see if they couldaccess the island to the south-east corner of the game's map. Upon arriving there, however, they found that not only was it a named location, but it was one that could be transformed into a private island base after clearing out some of the mutated creatures, Mirelurks, that originally inhabited it.
