One Catty Stardew Valley Comment Sparks Wild Theories About A Fan-Favorite NPC

Avid players likely already know that under Pelican Town's veneer of peaceful, rustic living there's a dark side to the community, as evidenced by some of the wild theories fans are suggesting regarding Abigail's father. The daughter of Pierre and Caroline, Abigail is one of the game's most beloved NPCs thanks to her inquisitive and rebellious nature, but while she may appear to be a typical small-town personality, her origins are somewhat mysterious. Thanks to a puzzling comment from her mother, players are wondering if Abigail's origin is as clear-cut as they were led to believe.

The postulation began when Reddit user handsome_squidwardd shared a screenshot of their conversation with Caroline wherein the NPC asks the Farmer if they think Abigail would look better with her natural hair color, suggesting that she's dying it.

The comment set off the community with many pointing out that Abigail is upfront about the fact that she hasn't dyed her hair in ages, meaning that purple is her natural color. This led to the hypothesis that Caroline is lying about Abigail's hair color because the rebellious youth isn't Pierre's child: She's actually the daughter of Magnus Rasmodius, the local wizard.

While developer ConcernedApe hasn't officially confirmed Abigail's lineage, drops plenty of hints that The Wizard is her biological father. After establishing a decent friendship level with Rasmodious, he'll confess that he has a child in Pelican Town;the only person who resembles him is Abigail thanks to her undyed purple hair. Even Pierre suspects something because he eventually confesses to the Farmer that he can't see the resemblance between himself and Abigail, leading him to question what Caroline's told him.
