Official Jaws Game Is On The Way (But There's A Major Catch)

A new game is in development but fans of the killer shark will only be able to get their fix through . There have been plenty of games since the original film first terrified audiences, but the franchise hasn't returned to the medium for some time now. Fortunately for those who long to chomp down on digital swimmers, the iconic sea creature is returning through one of the most successful games of all time.

Announced by developer Orange Comet, is a -exclusive asymmetrical multiplayer game where one player swims into the role of Jaws and attempts to kill the others who play as a team of expert shark hunters desperate to bring down the killer shark or complete any tasks they've been provided. Roles are randomly assigned to the players with all gameplay elements being created with assets. Based on the description of the game, will play similarly to other asymmetrical multiplayer experiences like and .

Shortly after dropping the announcement trailer, went live on with a page that describes other elements of the core gameplay loop. While surviving the shark/eating the hunters is the core of the experience, players will also be able to upgrade the weapons of the human character, customize the abilities of their shark, and even unlock «exclusive items» through the Sea Pass which is, effectively, ' take on the tried and tested Battle Pass system.
