Nintendo Switch 2 Price Expected to be Between $399 and $499; Hardware Has Been Finished for Years – Rumor

The Nintendo Switch 2 price is expected to be somewhere between $399 and $499, although, in theory, Nintendo could even go as low as $349.

Although Nintendo hasn't officially confirmed the existence of the platform, a lot has been said and written about the rumored Nintendo's Switch successor - currently dubbed the Nintendo Switch 2. Last year we reported on the rumored specs of the platform, which is said to pack the NVIDIA T239 SOC with an NVIDIA Ampere GPU with 1280 cores. In a new video from YouTuber 'Moore's Law is Dead', these specifications are indeed considered to be the most logical. In the video, the known YouTuber presented an some information from sources at NVIDIA, which claim that the rumored Samsung 8NM process node would be the perfect match for the Switch 2.

"I'm not that close to the project, but I can say that Samung 8nm is a perfect match for Nintendo", the alleged testimonial from one of the NVIDIA sources reads. "It's the lowest cost/transistor node on the market, and it's not expected to be as competitive for capacity as more modern nodes over the next few years. Also, remember that with 128-bit LPDDR5, Nintendo could realistically choose 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB capacities for the SOC we designed for them."

Another NVIDIA source mentions that's Digital Foundry's article from last year about possible Switch 2 hardware, is almost an "entirely correct summary of what's true about the Silicon in the Switch 2". Interestingly enough, this source also mentions that AMD wanted to design the architecture for the Switch successor, but ending up losing the bid to NVIDIA.
