Next week’s free Epic Games Store title will be a brand-new release

Next week’s free Epic Games Store title will be a brand-new release.

Wild Rooster’s Astro Duel 2 will be free to claim from Epic’s PC marketplace from March 7-14.

At launch, it will also be available on Steam and Nintendo Switch, with the latter version available to pre-order for $19.99 / £17.99.

“Astro Duel 2 is a sci-fi combat game combining top-down space dog fights with up-close platforming action,” according to Wild Rooster.

“Whether versus or co-op, battle through space and on foot at the same time! Strike within the fully-destructible arenas or just nuke ‘em from orbit.”

Aerial Knight’s Never Yield is currently free to claim from the Epic Games Store until March 7.

“Survive A futuristic Tokyo style Detroit in this 3D runner that tells the story of Wally, who has uncovered the evidence that can change his city forever,” reads an official description of the game.

“With an average runtime of an action movie (about an hour and a half on Normal), a first run of this action-packed adventure can be enjoyed in an afternoon. Afterwards you can improve your score.”

The Epic Games Store had over 270 million customers in 2023, and 75 million monthly active users in December, according to Epic.

Players spent $950 million on the Epic Games Store last year, including $310 million on third-party PC games.

The Epic Games Store gave away 86 free titles in 2023 (down from 99 in 2022). These games had a combined worth of $2,055, and users claimed nearly 586 million free titles (down from 700 million in 2022).
