New Virtua Fighter Reboot Details Surface; Releasing on All Major Platforms With Crossplay & Rollback – Rumor

New details about the rumored upcoming Virtua Fighter reboot have surfaced, including details on platforms, features, characters, art style, and more.

This 'information' once again comes from SEGA/Atus leaker 'Midori, who took to X (formerly Twitter) some hours ago with additional details about the reboot. Last month, the leaker claimed that SEGA is working on a reboot of the series alongside the new Jet Set Radio, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Shinobi and Crazy Taxi games. According to the leaker, the Virtua Fighter reboot is currently in development at the current Virtua Fighter staff and is being developed for "all major platforms" with support for both crossplay and rollback netcode. The fighter is said to offer both online and offline modes although the focus of the title will be on the online mode and esports.

"It is a concept that evolved a lot".

'Midori' added, "And there is an evolution of ranked matches that is similar to modern fighting games. This is a title that is focusing on scaling with the player and their play styles when they play online."

No additional details about a release frame for this Virtua Fighter reboot have been shared just yet, but it's clear that it's good time for fighting fans - both the recently released Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6 have been received well among the community, and NetherRealm's Mortal Kombat 1 has also proven to be an entertaining entry in
