New Steam Horror Game Inspired by Classic Slasher Movies

Upcoming Steam horror game Terror at Oakheart will officially launch on February 27. Steam features a huge number of horror games for PC gamers to check out, ranging from genre-defining classics to the latest big-name horror releases.

There are plenty of new Steam horror games to look forward to in the near future. For example, it was just recently confirmed that the former PlayStation-exclusive horror game Until Dawn is coming to Steam. Until Dawn takes inspiration from classic slasher films and sees a group of friends picked off one by one in gruesome fashion, unless players succeed at getting them out alive. While horror fans on PC wait for Until Dawn, they may want to check out an upcoming horror game that also takes inspiration from slasher movies.

Terror at Oakheart will hit on Steam on February 27, giving players the chance to explore the town of Oakheart as it is being terrorized by a serial killer named Teddy, who is being manipulated by a «Lovecraftian best.» The goal of the game is to «investigate and unmask» Teddy, with players having the chance to play as a variety of characters that can either survive or the ordeal or be brutally murdered by Teddy.

Terror at Oakheart is a 2D side-scroller, which should also help with its 80s and 90s vibes. The new trailer released for the game shows various characters investigating the town, hiding from Teddy, and unfortunately, in some cases, being killed by him. Characters are stabbed to death, dismembered, electrocuted, and even fed to the bizarre Lovecraftian monster that Teddy serves. The game being a 2D side-scroller may prove to be a roadblock for some gamers, but those that are willing to give Terror at Oakheart a chance may very well have a memorable time getting to the bottom of its mysteries.

Horror game fans curious about the game can download the Terror at Oakheart demo now on Steam. The demo will give players a small taste of what they can expect from the full release come launch on February 27.
