New Paranormal Activity Game Announced

Paramount's popular horror franchise, Paranormal Activity, is officially getting a game adaptation with an exciting developer and publisher at the wheel. When it comes to the world of entertainment, Paramount is one of the largest media conglomerates around, and the success of the Paranormal Activity films created a new surge of found-footage horror that offers great content for a game adaptation.

The evolution of horror games through the years has brought forth some great sub-genres that permeate the gaming world. From survival horror titles like Resident Evil and Alan Wake 2 to more narrative-driven, emotional stories like The Last of Us, horror has proven itself to be a genre that has an incredible ability to tell deeper stories in both a compelling and horrifying way. Since the horror genre is always evolving, the popularity of found-footage horror games has brought some heavy scares to many players in recent years, presenting the perfect time for a Paranormal Activity game to be developed.

Publisher DreadXP and developer DarkStone Digital are in the process of crafting a Paranormal Activity game for Paramount, titled Paranormal Activity: Found Footage. Responsible for indie horror titles like The Mortuary Assistant and My Friendly Neighborhood, DreadXP and DarkStone Digital have a proven record of creating some great scares. Brian Clarke, the lone developer of both previous titles and the co-director and creative director of DreadXP, is leading the development of the Paranormal Activity adaptation.

Although there isn't a release date revealed yet for Paranormal Activity: Found Footage, the team behind the game have given some insight into what players can expect once the title launches.
