New Demon Slayer Game Leaked

A well-known Sega leaker has confirmed that a sequel to Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles is currently in development. The first Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles was released in 2021, based on the 2019 anime adaptation of the same name. Hinokami Chronicles was developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Aniplex in Japan and by Sega globally. CyberConnect2 worked on a number of action-heavy anime style games before Hinokami Chronicles, such as the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm series and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Hinokami Chronicles, much like the Ninja Storm series, has both an action game focus and a 3D arena fighter multiplayer mode.

While the game was first released in 2021, Demon Slayer: Hinokami Chronicles got post-launch DLC the following year, adding a number of characters based on the anime's Entertainment District arc. This post-launch pack included seven characters, including Tengen Uzui, Nezuko Kamado's Advanced Demon Form, Daki, Gyutaro, and three alternate versions of the protagonists: Tanjiro Kamodo, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira. It appears a follow-up to the first Hinokami Chronicles game is currently in development.

This leak was provided by a well-known Sega leaker, @MbKKssTBhz5, or Midori, on Twitter. Midori has had an incredibly accurate track record in the past, leaking games like Persona 3 Reload and Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance before their official announcements. Midori simply stated that a sequel to Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles is in development, though she doesn't mention any systems or targeted release window for the game yet. Based on the previous entry, it's likely this game will be another cross-generation multiplatform game, launching on both the last-generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles, along with the current generation PS5 and Xbox Series X/S systems.

Hinokami Chronicles adapted the first season of the anime series and the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train film. This is evident with the final battle
