Netflix and Mojang have announced an animated Minecraft series

Netflix and Mojang Studios have announced that they’re working on an animated Minecraft series.

Aside from the fact that it’s coming “soon”, no further details about the project were revealed.

The announcement was timed to coincide with Minecraft’s 15th anniversary this month.

Microsoft acquired Minecraft maker Mojang and the game’s intellectual property rights for $2.5 billion in 2014.

Minecraft is one of the best-selling games of all time, with over 300 million copies sold, according to the studio.
