Minecraft Reveals 2024 April's Fool Snapshot Update Patch Notes

Minecraft's highly anticipated April Fools' Day update is here, and the developers have themed it around Poisonous Potatoes. Mojang Studios is known for its funky updates on April 1 every year, and this time around its focus seems to be on an item that is considered to be the most useless in Minecraft.

Minecraft players are eagerly waiting for the next major update, 1.21, to be released later this year. From new blocks to mobs and dungeons, there is plenty to look forward to. To gear up for the massive update, Mojang has been releasing snapshots to make incremental tweaks to Minecraft. For instance, the recently released Minecraft Snapshot 24w13a made a series of exciting changes to the Mace, adding the ability to enhance it with existing and new enchantments, which made it even more powerful. Now, fans are getting a chance to try out one of the most hilarious Minecraft updates Mojang has released in recent times.

In a new blog post, Mojang has revealed the complete patch notes of the Poisonous Potato update. A plethora of things in the game have given a poisonous potato theme including but not limited to blocks, mobs, and even paintings. Perhaps one of the funniest parts of the update is the full Poisonous Potato armor set, which when equipped, will destroy nearby mobs due to its poisonous effects. Items like couches and lamps have also been given a poisonous touch. In fact, even Minecraft's weather effects didn't get spared, as rain has been turned green in the snapshot.

There is also a Poisonous Potato dimension along with five new Minecraft biomes. The new dimension can be accessed through the Potato Portal, which can be unlocked by placing a Poisonous Potato on a pedestal. That's not all, as players will also be able to encounter a new boss named Mega Spud, Potatolord of the Fried Legion.
