LEGO Fortnite Getting Big New Update

LEGO Fortnite is releasing a major update, adding new building kit bundles and other quality-of-life improvements to Epic’s open-world building sandbox. Several new alternate modes were added to Fortnite last December, including LEGO Fortnite,Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival. As its name implies, LEGO Fortnite transforms Epic’s already colorful characters into LEGO Minifigures and replaces the base game’s frantic battle royale gameplay with a more relaxed crafting and survival formula that draws inspiration from Minecraft.

LEGO Fortnite has been an overwhelming success so far, gaining higher player counts than the base Fortnite in its first few days. Over the past few months, Epic has been building on LEGO Fortnite with new content like the popular Star Wars characters and Spider-Man’s Fortnite-exclusive Spider-Man Zero costume in Minifigure form. Fans were able to give suggestions for future LEGO Fortnite content in a survey back in January, and recent leaks have hinted at new enemy types and the implementation of Fortnite’s popular Island Codes.

Epic will soon release LEGO Fortnite Version 29.00, which adds a host of new LEGO Minifigure skins and fixes to various bugs and glitches. However, the biggest addition will come on March 9, when LEGO Fortnite adds new Kit bundles to its Item Shop that will allow players to decorate their worlds with new buildings and other items. The first two of these offerings will be the Beachside Boulevard Bundle and the Durrr Burger Bundle, with a third one named the Lion Knights' Castle Bundle to be added on March 16. The prices of these bundles will range from 1,900 V-Bucks to 2,500 V-Bucks, translated to roughly $15 to $20.

LEGO Fortnite isn’t the only branch of Epic’s ever-growing online universe that is getting new content, as the base Fortnite is also adding a new season inspired by ancient Greek mythology. Rumors suggest that this will lead to a Fortnite crossover with Disney’s Hercules or the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys
