By going into the console's settings, players can update the day's date to read March 1 instead of February 29. After players make this change in the settings, the game should work normally, allowing those who enjoy WRC to continue business as usual. Although there hasn't been any official reason given as to why Leap Day would make a game completely stop working, EA Help stated in its tweet that an investigation is being done on the problem.
