It's Time To Return To MultiVersus As Next Two Iconic Fighters Confirmed

As continues its attempts to win back players after its controversial hiatus, developer Player First Games announced the addition of two new iconic fighters and both of them should tug on fans' nostalgia. is finally back in the spotlight as the popular platform fighter is once again adding new content for the community and while many may still be concerned about the developer's handling of the relaunch, it's telling that players are slowly returning to the game. Fortunately for those fans, there'll soon be two new fighters to enjoy.

Per a brief teaser trailer posted to YouTube by Player First Games, is kicking off Season 2 by adding Samurai Jack to its roster of playable characters.

Genndy Tartakovsky's stoic warrior isn't the only new addition though as Beetlejuice has also been confirmed for the near future. Samurai Jack is coming to the game on July 23 while Michael Keaton's ghostly prankster doesn't yet have a release date but it seems safe to assume that he'll arrive in time for which hits theaters on September 2.

MultiVersus introduces five distinct character classes to choose from, ranging from Tanks to Mages, giving players multiple play styles to explore.

Aside from Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice, both of whom are easily the biggest draw for returning players, Season 2 is also adding a new way to play the game: Ranked Mode. This mode allows players to battle it out in 1 v 1 and 2 v 2 fights to earn points and stake their claim on the global leaderboard. Doing so will unlock exclusive cosmetics based on the achieved rank, so those who manage to climb higher will be granted better rewards.

Additionally, there's also a new stage: The Warner Bros. Water Tower. What's become an iconic Hollywood landmark will soon play host to ' crossover battles as players jump and fly across the various levels of the titular structure. Based on a small hint in the Season 2 trailer's final image, some fans are taking the WB Water Tower as a sign that the beloved Animaniacs
