How To Find (& Beat) The Old Bird In Lethal Company

The Version 50 update to the popular cooperative horror game introduces a plethora of additional content, including a new robot enemy called the Old Bird. This frightening entity appears outdoors, primarily on two new moons, and can be seen roaming the land. The Old Bird is attached with a large spotlight for a head. You should be careful not to get spotted by these towering robots.

The Old Bird is one of two new creatures being added to the broad list of entities in . Along with the giant spotlight, you will need to avoid long-range missiles. Using a flamethrower, the Old Bird will also engulf players within range in flames. Previously, the largest entity outdoors, besides the Earth Leviathan, was the Forest Keeper. This hulking threat was immune to all damage but can now be hurt with a shovel in version 50. Like the Forest Keeper before, the Old Bird cannot be killed.

The Old Bird is a significant threat to players and should always be avoided. However, learning a few mechanics will help with survival. First, every Old Bird has an active stage at 3 pm, during which time they begin to search for targets to destroy.

They do not discriminate between players and other entities. Before this active stage, they are dormant and passively walk around. However, this does not mean it is safe to approach an Old Bird. In addition to the large spotlights and missile barrage, they can also fly.

Unlike other entities, the Old Bird is slightly easier to avoid at night. Their headlights allow you to see the area they are patrolling. Avoid their gaze and run back to the ship, hopefully, while they are distracted by other entities. Unfortunately, the new Radar Booster in added in version 45 will be useless. This is because the Old Bird detects movement, not sound.

Grab as many items as possible before 3 pm and return to the ship. If you return after this time, it's best to wait until night.

is best played as a group, and the introduction of the Old Bird entity reinforces this.
