How To Beat Arlo In Pokémon GO (May 2024)

Team GO Rocket returns to in May 2024, including leader Arlo, who provides one of the toughest tests for Trainers in the game. Arlo will once again enter the battle with seven possible Pokémon that he can use, always selecting three, which will change for each showdown. He provides a much harder fight than regular Rocket Grunts, so it is vital to use the correct team to counter him. For this month, all of Arlo's team are Shadow Pokémon, making them much more challenging than the regular versions.

To take on Arlo this month, you will first need to defeat six grunts. You can find him by spinning Pokéstops or by finding GO Rocket Balloons. For each Grunt you defeat, you will receive a Mysterious Component, and once you have six, you will face one of the three GO Rocket Leaders. If you can defeat all three, Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra, you will have the opportunity to face the hardest AI opponent in, Team GO Rocket boss Giovanni in .

Arlo's team remains the same in this month, so those who have faced off against him in recent months will already have a good grasp on his team. While his other Pokémon will be chosen randomly, Arlo will always lead with Grass-type Cacnea, making it much easier to pick which Pokémon you want to start the battle with.

The remaining six possible Pokémon that Arlo will use have all been a part of his team for a long time, but all can provide problems if you don't use Pokémon that match up well and are super-effective against them.

His second Pokémon is randomly chosen out of three each time you battle him. It will be one ofFlying and Fire-type Charizard, Psychic-type Hypno, or Ghost and Ground-type Gorluck. Arlo's final Pokémon will also be randomly selected: Dragon- and Flying-type Dragonite, Bug and Steel-type Scizor, or Dragon and Flying-type Salamence.

If you find yourself facing a team that doesn't match up well against your own, you can leave the battle and try to fight Arlo later, as he will have a brand-new team.
