Horizon Forbidden West Is a Sight to Behold With ReShade Ray Tracing, DLAA and Maximum Graphics Settings

Horizon Forbidden West is among the best looking open-world games available, and the game is looking more gorgeous than ever on PC thanks to mods.

A new 8K resolution video shared on YouTube by Digital Dreams showcases the second entry in the series by Guerilla running with the Beyond all Limits ReShade preset, which includes a ray tracing shader, NVIDIA DLSS, and the highest possible graphics settings. Needless to say, the game looks downright stunning.

While Horizon Forbidden West already looked great on PlayStation 5, a few mods released online since the game's launch on PC decisively improve its visuals. One of them is particularly welcome, as it removed the game's ugly yellow tint, resulting in considerably better visuals.

Despite the vast and highly detailed open world featured in Horizon Forbidden West, stuttering is nearly non-existent, and powerful rigs can focus on turning on all the graphics settings without worrying too much about performance. Personally, with my RTX 4090 GPU, I went with a combination of DLSS Frame Generation and DLAA to achieve maximum visual fidelity while keeping an average of over 70 frames per second (and consistent frame times) at 4K with maxed settings.
