Horizon Forbidden West Confirms PC Version Features and Release Date

Horizon: Forbidden West has confirmed all of the upgraded features coming with the game's «Complete Edition» release on PC, also revealing the PC version's release date. The highly-anticipated Horizon: Zero Dawn sequel from PlayStation Studios and Guerrilla Games launched to massive fanfare in early 2022 as a PS5 exclusive. The sequel saw both fan and critical acclaim for Forbidden West's expansive world and received multiple awards nominations, including a nomination for «Game of the Year» at the 2022 Game Awards. Now, the beloved sequel is gearing up for plenty of new features with its PC launch.

Following its highly successful launch, Horizon: Forbidden West would receive its first major expansion with Burning Shores launching in April 2023. The expansion, following the conclusion of the main game's story, whisked Aloy to a post-apocalyptic version of Los Angeles, expanding the game's map and introducing new story content. Sony and Guerrilla would later debut the «Complete Edition» on PS5 in September, featuring both the main game and Burning Shores while confirming a PC launch to come. The game's newest trailer has now given fans more information about the upcoming PC version.

The newest trailer for Horizon: Forbidden West's PC launch shows off a plethora of features players will benefit from within the new version. Horizon: Forbidden West on PC will feature several graphical upgrades, including support for ultrawide displays and upscaling for Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS graphics drivers. The game will also feature direct storage support and an unlocked framerate, as well as full DualSense support complete with the controllers' touted haptic feedback. The trailer concludes by confirming the release date for Horizon: Forbidden West on PC, debuting on March 21.
