Honkai: Star Rail Gets a Physical PlayStation 5 Release, With Bonuses

HoYoverse and PM Studios have partnered on a physical PlayStation 5 release for space fantasy RPG Honkai: Star Rail.

The release is available now as the Honkai: Star Rail Trailblazer edition. To tempt you into a purchase, there are a number of bonus goodies, including ones you can redeem in-game as well as merch like keychains. 

These bonuses will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 physical version. Along with the game disc itself, you also get a pack of nine gilded holographic character cards, two holographic chibi trailblazer keychains, a PS5 postcard, and that code that you can redeem for exclusive items in game.

The Honkai: Star Rail PlayStation 5 Trailblazer edition is currently available for $39.99/£44.99/€44.99 directly from PM Studios and additional retail stores. While this is a special edition of a game that you can otherwise download for free on PlayStation 5 and mobile, the premium physical edition is already getting some interest. PM shared charts showing that the Trailblazer edition had made it up to the second best selling PlayStation 5 games on Amazon within 12 hours of release. 

The just-announced PlayStation 5 Pro (and the disc-less Slim model) don’t come with disc drives by default, physical media hasn’t died out just yet. Some, especially when games can be delisted or access removed, are proponents of keeping physical media available.
