Helldivers 2 Steam reviews see a huge positive turn as players agree to reverse their ratings

User reviews for the Steam version of Helldivers 2 have been seeing a huge turnaround, as fans change their negative ratings to positive ones.

Last week Sony stated that the game would soon require players to sign into the Steam version with a PlayStation Network account, and that all players would need to have linked their Steam and PlayStation Network accounts by June 4.

The news was met with huge backlash from players, and the game was hit with over 100,000 negative reviews on Steam in less than 48 hours, negativity that continued when the game was pulled from over 150 countries on Steam, due to them not having access to the PlayStation Network.

Following the intital announcement that the requirement was upcoming, user reviews were 95% negative on Friday, 96% negative on Saturday and 98% negative on Sunday.

After the U-turn, however, user reviews were 80% positive on Monday, and at the time of writing are currently 94% positive today.

In all, over 71,000 positive reviews have been posted so far since the U-turn, and while it’s still some way off from the roughly 218,000 negative reviews posted since the intital announcement, it does at least show a change in mood from the community.

Players had agreed that should Sony make a U-turn on its decision, they would make a similar U-turn on their reviews, turning them from negative to positive.

Moderators on the game’s Reddit page launched a ‘Major Order’ for users called ‘Operation Clean Up’, telling players to undo their scores.

“Sony has reversed their decision to move forward with the account linking update,” the ‘Major Order’ reads.

“Helldivers; should you choose to
