Helldivers 2 Player Confirms Eagle-1 Hitboxes With Hilarious Midair Collision

A Helldivers 2 player discovered the model for Eagle-1 came with its own hitboxes after a comedic midair collision. Since the game's release, there's been no shortage of videos showcasing the many ways Helldivers 2 players can expire in the line of duty, but one unfortunate soldier met a particularly gruesome end when they were launched into the air and subsequently hit by the series' iconic Eagle Fighter.

Helldivers 2 has garnered a notorious reputation for the sheer body count of its ongoing Galactic War against the Terminids and Automatons, with millions of the eponymous Helldivers expected to die in the course of even a single planetary siege. Most players likely met their untimely demise through typical means, such as a pack of Terminids or under a barrage of shells fired by Automaton artillery. Surprisingly, the fighter did not pass harmlessly through as some might have expected. Instead, the collision ended up damaging the player's body, leaving the unfortunate corpse dismembered and confirming that the developers added hitboxes to Eagle-1's in-game model.

Players were shocked not only by the uniqueness of Apocryphea's death but also by the thoroughness of developer Arrowhead Game Studios in adding collision mechanics to what was believed to be a noninteractable element for Helldivers 2's
