Pilestedt explains that the team at Arrowhead does not want to release the Warbond in a tone-deaf manner following the influx of outrage from the Helldivers 2 PSN account linking controversy. Pilestedt offers two options, either releasing the Warbond on May 9, 2024, or delaying the release for some time.

In response to Pilestedt's question, many gamers have opted for the decision to release. Six hours ahead of the poll's closing, 73.9% of the 136,622 votes cast voted in favor of the May 9 release. Some fans have voiced that their request for a sooner Warbond release comes with the request to make sure the new Helldivers 2 weapon balancing is not too intense.
