Gran Turismo 7 Releases Update 1.44

Gran Turismo 7 developer Polyphony Digital has just released a brand-new update for the game that adds three new cars, as well as new events and feature updates. Polyphony's dedication to maintaining the game through updates like these is one of the biggest reasons why Gran Turismo 7 remains one of the best racing titles right now despite having just turned two years old.

Released back in March 2022, Gran Turismo 7 is the latest entry in Sony and Polyphony's legendary PlayStation-exclusive racing sim franchise. As is the standard for Gran Turismo, the game got exceptional reviews upon its release for both the PS4 and PS5.

Update 1.44 for Gran Turismo 7went live on March 27, 2024. It adds the sleek Audi R8 Coupé V10 plus ’16 road car, the Lamborghini Urus '18 «super SUV,» and the legendary Toyota GT-One (TS020) ’99 F1 racer. The Audi and Lamborghini can be purchased in the Brand Central shop, while the Toyota GT-One can be bought at the Legend Cars store. In addition to the new cars, there are also new events added to the rotation: European Clubman Cup 600 – Blue Moon Bay Speedway – Infield A Reverse, Schwarzwald League – High Speed Ring Reverse, and World Touring Car 900 – 24 Heures du Mans race track.

The game's Livery Editor has also been updated with a special collaboration featuring upcoming Japanese anime series Highspeed Étoile. Lastly, the city of Fukushima has also been added as a featured curation in Scapes. These new additions in this patch are relatively few compared to the last major Gran Turismo 7 content update, but it should keep players satisfied.

In fact, the game is doing so well for itself that Gran Turismo 7 continues to be a bestseller on the PlayStation Store as of January 2024. Though it ranked 16th out of 20 big PlayStation games that month, it's a testament to how good it is as the benchmark racing sim for the platform, being able to stand among heavyweights such as Tekken 8, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and Elden Ring.

And beyond being a great
