Genshin Impact Player Notices Unusual Background Image During Wishing Animation

A Genshin Impact fan has noticed an interesting detail at the end of the game's iconic wishing animation. Wishing, also known as pulling on a banner, is one of the main mechanics in gacha-based games, allowing players to try their luck at acquiring new characters and weapons.

Genshin Impact features several interesting banners, but the most popular one by far is the Limited Character Banner. This banner showcases a variety of five-star and four-star playable units that are available for approximately three weeks. Located in the main city of the Mondstadt region, this tavern sells drink-based food items that can be purchased by speaking to an NPC named Charles. The post garnered significant attention within the community, achieving over 23,000 likes and around 2,700 retweets. Many fans seem to agree that the background in the images bears a striking resemblance to the interior of the tavern.

Players have already started debating why HoYoverse chose to feature this image in the background. While there have been a lot of ideas, many fans agree that it was probably just used as a placeholder initially and there was no real reason to change it afterward. Some comments have highlighted that, from now on, every time they make a wish, they will be reminded of Genshin Impact's City of Freedom, which remains a fan-favorite region for a large part of the community.
