Genshin Impact 4.8 Leaks: New Limited Map May Be Set In Fontaine

A new leak regarding Version 4.8 has been shared, hinting at another limited-time map, though this one is set to be in the region of Fontaine. Although the live-service game by HoYoverse is currently in Version 4.3, moving towards Version 4.4 in late January, there have allegedly been leaks about content planned for later in the year, including for the release of Natlan in . The game has long been struggling with leaks – most of the planned content for Fontaine in Version 4.0 was shared months before its release, and the majority of it was accurate.

At the moment, the focus of the leaks is on the content for the next update, Version 4.4. There have been leaks regarding the gameplay kits of the two upcoming characters, Xianyun and Gaming, as well as details about the alleged new areas in the region of Liyue, a rumored Adepti that lives there, and some of the enticing rewards that may be given out through the annual Lantern Rite Festival event. Nevertheless, future Versions seem to be undergoing tests and it is from these sessions that leaks normally come forth – including the new 4.8 leak.

This means that the addition will not be permanent and should leave the game shortly after. In another leak obtained by White, also shared by a user on Reddit, this limited-time map may be themed after Fontaine. There is no direct connection between the two leaks, but they are likely referring to the same rumored map addition in 4.8, based on how HoYoverse normally releases map updates throughout the year.

The leaks that cite the addition of a limited-time map in Version 4.8, despite lacking further evidence to back them up, are not too far-fetched. Version 4.8 is, most likely, the last update this year before the arrival of Version 5.0 and the introduction of the nation of Natlan. For
