Gardens Partners With Pragma For Optimal Online Multiplayer Support

Gardens is a reputable games studio with a background in games such as Diablo IV, Skyrim, Journey, Firewatch, and many more across the team's resumes. Today, Gardens announced it is teaming up with Pragma, the backend game engine that built platforms for some of the biggest live-service games, to get the best online multiplayer support possible for their newest game. These games include League of Legends, Destiny 2, and Plants vs Zombies 2.

By teaming up with Pragma, they can continue developing their unannounced project without worrying about technical limitations. "It has been really great working with our team of game designers to get all of their ideas and come back with implementations. And I am much more flexible and can accommodate their unique requests with Pragma because they gave me an extensible system that lets me not give just a one-size-fits-all answer," said Serge Knystautas, Head of Engineering at Gardens Interactive.

By teaming up with Pragma, Gardens now has a platform they can extend without building the entire engine from scratch or investing too many resources into maintaining it. This is because the Pragma Backend Game Engine gives the developers a single backend solution that stays consistent and has all the basic tools and needs for an online live service game. Pragma also allows Gardens to customize the tools to their liking so that they can be as basic or as sophisticated as they want.

Not much is known about Gardens' upcoming project, as it doesn't have a name yet. However, it is said to build on the special ways members of the team have designed shared online experiences in the past by allowing players to cross paths and join each other's journeys by shape-shifting and exploring fantasy wilds.
