Florida Joker Issues Yet Another Message to Rockstar Games Over GTA 6

Lawrence “Florida Joker” Sullivan has once again put out a message to Rockstar Games over the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6, but he seems to be dropping his threats of legal action. Sullivan’s mugshot went viral in 2017 due to his facial tattoos baring a resemblance to The Joker of DC Comics fame, and he would gain newfound infamy shortly after Rockstar released the first trailer for the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6 back in December. Included in this trailer was a brief shot of a similarly tattooed criminal being taken to court, and Sullivan quickly accused Rockstar of stealing his look.

Over the past few months, Lawrence Sullivan posted numerous videos on social media demanding that Rockstar pay him for his apparent parody in Grand Theft Auto 6, drawing plenty of commentary and derision from people like Red Dead Redemption 2 actor Roger Clark along the way. As the months went on, Sullivan would increase the amount of money in his demands, claiming that his notoriety has drawn attention to the game and threatening a lawsuit if Rockstar wouldn’t contact him in time.

Lawrence “Florida Joker” Sullivan posted yet another message to Rockstar Games on TikTok earlier this week, but this time he is no longer threatening to sue the developer over Grand Theft Auto 6. Instead, he repeated his previous offer to voice the GTA 6 character he is supposedly based on and wants to be paid about $50,000 or $100,000 for this. He also offered to do promotional work once GTA 6 launches in 2025, such as meet-and-greets and signing autographs at conventions like Comic-Con.

As Sullivan himself noted in his latest message, Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive have yet to respond to his repeated messages and threats of a lawsuit. This is hardly the first time that Rockstar has been accused of stealing someone’s likeness for a Grand Theft Auto character, as Lindsay Lohan once sued Rockstar over GTA 5 character Lacey Jonas in 2014.
