Fire Emblem Heroes Getting New Update on April 3

Fire Emblem Heroes update 8.4.0 is dropping on April 3, Intelligent Systems has announced. The upcoming patch will offer players the opportunity to grab some limited-time Combat Manuals and upgrade even more armaments in the Fire Emblem Heroes Weapon Refinery, among other changes.

While Nintendo has long insisted that its mobile games aren't meant to make money, Fire Emblem Heroes has been doing just that for many a year. Originally released in early 2017, the gacha game based on the iconic SRPG franchise is estimated to have generated over $826 million in revenue as of late 2023, according to a recent Statista study.

As tends to be the case with hit live-service titles, the game's regular influx of updates introducing new content and events played a big part in its ongoing success. The latest such patch, designated by version number 8.4.0, was officially announced in late March. One of the big novelties arriving in this update is yet another iteration of Divine Codes, which players will be able to exchange for limited-time Combat Manuals, items that are essentially used as storage for unwanted Fire Emblem Heroes units which would otherwise occupy valuable space in the Barracks.

As per usual, the new Divine Codes will be obtainable by completing events following the release of the 8.4.0 patch. The update will introduce seven special Combat Manuals in total, which players will be able to create using the Compile Combat Manual feature until 7:59am local time on May 28. The patch itself is scheduled to roll out globally on April 3 and will not prevent fans from obtaining the preceding series of Divine Codes, designated as Ephemera 3.

The new Fire Emblem Heroes update will also expand the selection of armaments that can be upgraded using the Weapon Refinery. That list will soon include Hades Ω, Dark Scripture, Daniel-Made Bow, Astral Breath, and Bride's Fang. New Memento Events are also part of the upcoming package, as are some changes to the Aether Raids mode.
