Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s ‘impossible Platinum Trophy’ bug will be fixed in the next patch

A bug currently making it impossible for players to get a Platinum Trophy in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be fixed in the game’s next patch, Square Enix says.

A recent update for the game introduced the issue, which stopped the game registering scores gained in the Can”t Stop, Won’t Stop sidequest which involves a G-Bike arcade simulator minigame.

Because this was preventing players from earning a PlayStation Trophy for hitting a certain high score in the minigame, it was also therefore making the Platinum Trophy – awarded for getting all other trophies – impossible to achieve.

Square Enix has now confirmed on the game’s official X account, however, that the issue will be resolved in the game’s next patch.

“We’re aware of an issue stopping progress in the “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” sidequest,” the message reads.

“This is scheduled to be fixed in the next patch. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this has caused. Thank you for your patience and support while we work to address this issue.”

VGC’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth review called the game “an utterly massive RPG pushed to its limit”.

We wrote: “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is an excellent RPG with some of the best characters in the gaming canon.

“While some open-world content skirts the edges, and the game’s main narrative is left somewhat deflated, the time spent with Aerith, Tifa, and the gang makes this a hugely enjoyable road trip you’ll be playing for hundreds of hours.”
