FF7 Rebirth Aerith Cosplay Recreates Iconic Flower Girl In Church Scene
A new fan cosplay of Aerith from is recreating one of her most iconic moments in the game. Aerith Gainsborough is not only one of the most important characters in the title’s campaign due to her connection to the planet but also one of the most beloved among players because of her fun and cheerful personality that essentially counters Cloud’s stoic persona throughout the story. Now, she is being honored by a dedicated fan.
In a post made by the cosplayer and Reddit user SaiWestwood, it is possible to see how the artist recreates Aerith from and, beyond that, how she replicates the character’s iconic scene that occurs in the church. Of course, the church scene occurs in , but the post is a means of celebrating the recent release of the second title in the remake series by Square Enix.
SaiWestwood’s cosplay shows Aerith down on the floor with a few flowers scattered around her, much like what happens in the game when Cloud surprises her by plummeting through the rough after falling from the Mako Reactor 5 above.
The scene that SaiWestwood is recreating through her cosplay is iconic, but also one of the most important ones in the game. The church scene is where Aerith and Cloud first meet each other and establish an immediate connection, in spite of their opposing personalities. This is also where Cloud and Aerith consecrate themselves as allies in the storyline, as Cloud fends off Reno, who is trying to capture her and take her to Shinra.
Of course, the adventure of the duo goes on beyond the church and they live many joint experiences. Still, the church scene is symbolic, as it also represents a moment of respite amidst all the nonstop action and tension during the Midgar portion of the game. At that exact moment, it is impossible to understand just how important Aerith is to the story of and Cloud, but there are hints of it in the calm way she is presented, a lot of which is made possible due to the setting.
