Fallout 4 Is About To Get Even Better With Its Free Update

A free update has been announced for that's going to make it better than ever. The last main single-player entry in the franchise, was released to critical acclaim back in 2015 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and while it's available via backward compatibility on the current generation of consoles, many have hoped it would get an upgrade that optimized the newer hardware like many other titles from the last console generation.

As announced on Bethesda Game Studios' official X account, this will finally be coming on April 25th. Native applications are being launched digitally for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and those who already owned the game on PS4 and Xbox One will receive a free update when they boot up their games in their current-gen devices on this day.

This update will add new Performance mode and Quality mode settings across all platforms, as well as stability improvements and fixes to allow the game to run at 60 FPS with increased resolutions. PC players will also be treated to widescreen and ultra-widescreen support, with further fixes to the Creation Kit, and updated quests. The game will also become "" on the Steam Deck due to the new stability features.

players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will also receive a free update with stability improvements, and login and quest fixes.

The updates will also add more content to the game, including free Creation Club items. These include 38 new decorations from an ill-fated Halloween party, a "" that includes a variety of unconventional objects that have been transformed into deadly weapons, such as a baseball launcher, a nail gun, and a piggy bank.
