Exclusive: DCUO's Harley Quinn vs Apokolips Episode Launching On September 24th

DC Universe Online's next episode, Harley Quinn vs Apokolips, is coming to all platforms next week on September 24th.

The upcoming episode follows the titular Harley Quinn as she attempts to rescue Poison Ivy, who was kidnapped by the Female Furies. Earlier this month, we revealed the official key art for Harley Quinn vs Apokolips episode, which fans of the comic of the same name might have spotted quite a few Easter eggs in the artwork.

The teaser trailer shows various members of the Furies under attack by players, who are working alongside Harley, to defeat them, including some scenes with Granny Goodness herself. We even see a Redtool cameo — which makes sense considering he's utterly obsessed with Harley Quinn, who is sporting her new outfit and a new giant hammer.

The episode marks the 48th in DC Universe Online's long line of content updates, bringing the focus of the action to South Gotham. However, even though this region was the main focus in a previous flashpoint, we might see some marked changes thanks to all the Darkseid activity in the area.

In our key art reveal, DCUO Art Director Scot Boyd talked about one of the big moods of the episode: contrast. Harley herself encapsulates this, according to Boyd, and the art direction of South Gotham here does as well.

«She's a light character which is a constant, and the entire environment that this episode is set in is darkness. You go into South Gotham and it's gray, it's raining. But it's downright cheerful compared to Apokolips.»

It's an interesting change of pace too for DCUO, which is coming off the heels of thelast episode, Braniac Returns!, which saw the Justice League and Lex Luthor's Secret Society team up to stop the world-ending threat of Brainiac.

DC Universe Online's Harley Quinn vs Apokolips will launch on all platforms on September 24th.
