Evercore Heroes Undergoes Transformation From MOBA to Three Player Co-Op Roguelite

Evercore Heroes, a game developed by Riot, EA, and Rare veterans at Vela Games, has undergone a transformation. The title which was originally a mix of MOBA and MMO PvE elements is now a three-player team action roguelite, according to a new announcement released by its developer.

For those wondering why the change, Vela Games CEO explained the decision came primarily due to player feedback:

“Despite some big changes at Vela, our team took that feedback and made an all-new game from the best parts of Evercore Heroes. We really took it back to its roots, focusing on cooperative action and true teamplay with an exciting roster of heroes, which is the kind of fun multiplayer experience Vela has wanted to bring players from day one.”

The game, which will re-launch on Steam later this year, will now focus on realtime combat and a varied roster of more than a dozen unique playable characters. Players will battle the forces of chaos as a team of three characters comprised of damage dealers, tanks, and support characters. Each hero can be customized with its own build, leveraging the game’s “deep progression” systems.

Evercore Heroes’ encounters are procedurally generated on each map, which should keep players on their toes without the ability to predict just exactly which challenges they’ll go up against. If successful, players will face off against an end-game encounter with a promise of great rewards.

As with all roguelites, death is only the beginning. Even if a run is cut short due to failure, players will unlock “new ways to play” to change things up on the next adventure.
