Evercade announces its next cartridge, Legacy of Kain Collection

Blaze Entertainment has announced the next in its range of Evercade cartridges.

Legacy of Kain Collection will feature two PS1 era games on a single cartridge – Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.

The cartridge can be played on all Evercade and Super Pocket devices, including the upcoming Evercade Alpha tabletop arcade machines.

Blaze has partnered with Crystal Dynamics for the cartridge, which will be released in September alongside another cart, the Bitmap Brothers Collection 2.

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain was the first game in the Legacy of Kain series and was a top-down 2D action adventrure game released on PS1 and PC in 1996.

Its sequel Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver swapped to a 3D third-person action adventure game and was released on PS1, Dreamcast and PC in 1999. Three further sequels and spin-offs were released in the PS2 era.

This is the second Evercade cartridge to be released in partnership with Crystal Dynamics. The first, Tomb Raider Collection 1, consists of the first three PS1 Tomb Raider games.

Back in May, Blaze Entertainment announced Evercade Alpha, a range of tabletop arcades which have built-in games but also play Evercade cartridges.

Each cabinet has an 8″ high-resolution IPS 4:3 screen, and is USB-C powered. Each comes fully assembled, standing at just over 16 inches tall, and each version comes with three swappable marquees which can be inserted into the light-up marquee bar at the top of the cabinet.
