EVE Online Celebrates Its 21st Birthday As Capsuleer Day XXI Celebrations Rage On

EVE Online celebrates its 21st birthday this year, as its Capsuleer Day XXI celebrations continue to rage on throughout New Eden.

Launched on May 6th, 2003, the MMO would go on to be one of the most successful and long-lived in the genre, thanks in large part to the escapades of its player base, which makes up the fabric of New Eden. The MMO's single-shard sandbox nature has led to multiple world records being broken, as well as two full history books chronicling the exploits of its players.

The team at CCP Games marked the occasion with a post on social media, heralding its players who make EVE Online the vibrant and alive universe that has inspired so many games since 2003.

EVE Online's third decade has already kicked off with a bang thanks to itsincredible Havoc expansion, which brought even more chaos and destruction to New Eden last year. Couple this with the resurgence of EVE Online's FPS hopes in EVE Vanguard, which is being developed alongside EVE Online and its players, and the third decade looks to be as eventful as ever. The next expansion,Equinox, will be launching on June 11th, bringing more reasons to fight in nullsec, such as new planetary resources, structures and more. 

EVE Online's Capsuleer Day XXI celebrations are ongoing this month. Players who log in are rewarded with ship SKINs, Skill points, whole ships, and much more, in addition to the rewards they can earn while jumping into Abyssal space to take part in the celebration events. This is all whilemassive battles are raging still between the largest nullsec player empires, as well as massive under-the-radar Wormholer war, which has seen trillions of ISK lost in just a month (which, given the scale of wormhole fights, is huge).
