Elden Ring Fan Is Playing Through the Game as a Mass Effect Villain

One Elden Ring fan is currently playing through the game with an impressively faithful recreation of Saren Arterius, the villain from the original Mass Effect. Their unique Tarnished recently made the rounds on social media, adding to the endless stream of memorable Elden Ring characters that have surfaced online since the game's critically acclaimed 2022 release.

Following much anticipation, FromSoftware has recently revealed that the first and likely only expansion for its hit RPG, Shadow of the Erdtree, will finally be released on June 21. The announcement had a noticeable impact on Elden Ring's player count, as many fans seemingly decided to delve into another playthrough while waiting for the DLC to drop. This also gave rise to yet another influx of distinct-looking characters that the fandom opted to design ahead of their new adventures in the Lands Between.

One such particularly memorable Tarnished was recently authored by YouTuber Saneroot, who managed to design a faithful recreation of the Mass Effect villain Saren Arterius. The content creator admitted that the end result of their design efforts was a happy accident of sorts, not least because their initial goal was to recreate the Vordt of the Boreal Valley from Dark Souls 3 in Elden Ring.

Saneroot has ultimately decided to just roll with their Saren Arterius lookalike, having even gone through the effort of putting together a detailed video going over all of the Elden Ring character creator sliders that they ended up using. Fans interested in mimicking their design should hence be able to do so with relative ease.

Granted, sliders are just part of the equation, as Saren Arterius's iconic look would be incomplete without some carefully curated equipment.
